I'm working on getting Bound in Amber rewritten and republished, along with the next book in the series. I'm hoping to have this done by the end of June, but I'm afraid of jinxing myself by setting a firm date. I've got a writing process blog hop coming up in August (which won't actually be under this name, but I'll link to it anyway), so that would be the final date I can push. It would be nice to have these books done by then, so I can maybe get a sales boost!
In the rare case you've been looking for anything by me, I do apologize. I had a sort of meltdown and unpublished all my work. Stuff going on with the 'rents just got to me.
In Bound in Amber, Arribel "Bel" Devlin, a witch who has turned away from her magical heritage because she feels she is inadequate, is pulled back into the family business in order to stop a dark mage from using an enchanted book to steal energy for his spells and rituals. She's aided by her coworker, Jack Creedmore, her mother, and her ghostly great-something-grandmother, called Maman.
The group finds a spell that will bind the mage, but in the process Maman is banished.
The second book follows the main character in BiA as she works through her issues with magic. She's still trying to find out what happened to Maman, even doing some magic and attending a local coven's circles. When Maman returns unexpectedly, without her magic and frantic about something she fears is going to happen to the family, Bel is once again drawn into the magical life she wants to leave behind.
The title of this book is 13 Gathered, at least for now. I've been messing around with titles for this book, and for the remaining three. I'd like to have something suitably "witchy" for the titles. I'm about a fourth of the way through the first draft, which probably doesn't bode well for finishing by my deadline, but I soldier on. :D
So, that's where I'm at in the writing stuff.
Anne
